Subject: Re: [Ferret-Health-list] Acarexx for ear mites

Hi Christine,
You asked about using Acarexx for ferret's with
ear mites. Well Acarexx is actually diluted ivermectin
that you use directly in the ears. The company has not
done any ferret studies, but ivermectin is what most of us
have been using for years. It should be fine to use. We usually
recommend a second dose in 3 weeks. Another product
that can be used on ferrets for ear mites is Revolution the
flea, tick, heartworm, ear mite, and sarcoptic mite product.
Pfizer recommends the cat 5-15 pound size for ferrets.
