Subject: Rimadyl
Hi everybody
My ferret Jack had an infection in his nose not long ago and was running a
high temperature (106 degrees Fahrenheit/ 41 degrees Celsius). The vet gave
him antibiotics and something to bring his temperature down. He had this 2
days in a row. When I got my bill I had a look what drug was used to bring
the temperature down and the vet had given Jack Rimadyl. I am on a few
mailing lists and Rimadyl is given to dogs for pain I think and anyway,
everybody is dead against Rimadyl, it has killed dogs who'd only been on it
for a few days or some dogs just about survived the liver failiure that the
Rimadyl caused. My question- is Rimadyl safe for use in ferrets? I know
Jack's only had 2 injections but if it can kill a dog after 4-5 days...
