Hello FHL,
My name is Claudia Johnson and I have the Oxford Ferret Rescue in
Elkton, Md and I'm so gald to be a part of this list. I only saw a
few posts as I just subscibed. I feel so bad for Julie because I
lost a VERY special ferret on Dec. 20th to kidney failure. I had 3
weeks to prepare myself for losing him. I had had him to the vets
for a checkup the week before he crashed. I had told my vet that he
was doing so well that he fell off the bed because he was dancing so
much ( carpet on floors). He was 6 years old and I only had himn a
little over a year. I called him funny face because his nose was
sooo long. His name was Jazz and I still miss him terribly. I gave
subc fluids 2x/day the 1x/day. I was syring feeding him and the
volume he ate began to increase. One Sun night, he even ate out the
food bowl. Then he got restless in the middle of the night and I
would bring him in bed with me. He seemed to not be comfortable and
my vet said that this wasn't a good sign. I was selfish and hung
onto him for an extra 2 days because I lost Jasmine (came in with
him) on Dec. 17th. She had surgery at my vets and then at a ferret
experts but she died 2 days later. I'm just rambling now, but I
want Julie to know that she's in my thougths. I hope she has other
ferrets because I don't know what I would do without mine.
