Hi Dodie - You mentioned that Gidget had been on oral pred for nearly a year.
Prednisone all by itself can cause ulcers - especially over long term use. I
would certainly talk to your vet about the possibility and ask for treatment
of same. BTW, you have a great doctor to personally take your baby and build
her up. When you commented that her stools were o.k., am assuming your vet
checked for occult blood, but ulcers might be present anyway. In any case,
from your description of how she was reacting to meds and food indicates her
