Patty, I would say that Cisco is probably hydrated if his
gums are nice and moist, but there are other factors to
consider. Is there any reason why you feel Cisco might be
dehydrated? Is there any diarrhea? If Cisco is bald in
areas, his skin appear dry and wrinkled there, but this is not
necessarily a sign of dehydration.

Thanks for the info. My ferret Cisco has adrenal carcinoma
and his skin always looks very wrinkled, pinch test varies
depending
on what part of the body I use. I checked his gums and they
are very moist so can I take that to mean he doesn't need
SubQ fluids?
