Subject: Food Protein Levels

Hi Everyone~

I have been confused about this for awhile. I know our
little guys need good quality food with high protein
36-38%
levels. I always thought that it was the type of
protein in the food that matter. Good food
(kibble)with the least amount of protein from plant
matter. Chicken based with very little corn, rice, etc
fillers.

Now with a protein restricted diet what is more
important, the overall numbers (protein percentage) or
the protein type? I always thought it was the plant
protein in food that caused the kidney trouble in
older ferrets.

Thank you so much for anyone that can enlighten me.

Sharon
