Subject: Deafness in ferrets
Hi all I have a male neutered blaze ferret age 3 months old. He was given to
me three weeks come tomorrow. I think he is deaf as he does not seem to wake
up as his other cage mate does the second I open their cage to let them out
or clean the food and water bottle. I would like to know how I go about
training him to stop nipping me since he cannot hear me say "no bite" as I
scruff him. His other cage mate is the same age and is a sable male(named
Rusty) . He did nip badly when he first was given to me for a birthday
suprise.He no longer nips as much because I always scruff him and say" no
bite". If anyone has another web site for deaf ferrets and how to train them
please advise me. I really do appreiciate this digest and all of the
wonderful help I have gotten . I love my ferrets and just need to learn how
to train the deaf one whose name is Dale.
