I gave my cats and ferrets the same thing, Advantage. But I gave the
cats a whole dose and the ferrets 1/2, I put it on the back of their
necks. Is this OK? Just looking for the best remedy.

That's what I do with my own. Frontline works well too, and Revolution seems
to as well, although I haven't used it. I suspect Program would be just fine
as well.
