I can only tell you from my experience what I have done - if I know what they
have been eating, I try to slowly wean them off the bad food - but I can tell
you that I have had so many older ferrets eating crappy food like Meow Mix or
something like that, that refused to switch over. Yeah, its nice having
everyone eating the same mix, but it doesnt always happen. I have found that
Pro Plan Kitten food, while barely qualifying as an appropriate food for
ferrets, seems to be irristible to them. All my kids that won't eat anything
else will eat it - and the bonus of being the same color/shape as purina
kitten chow and purina one can't be beat.

Anyone looking in my 'ferret closet' will find the following foods: TF,
Superior Choice, Iams kitten, Eukanuba kitten, Meow Mix, Purina kitten chow,
Authority Kitten food, 8in1 Ultimate, Totally Ferret senior, Pro Plan kitten.
With the exception of one ferret, everyone coming through here has eaten
these foods....
