Wow, given your personal experiences and coming right on the heels of
another post-op death, I can understand how the thought of ferret surgeries
has you down. If it's any help, I've had 9 surgeries in ferrets in the past
7 years. At least 2/3 of those would be considered major surgeries
(adrenal, insulinoma, urethrostomy, etc) in anyone's book. I have never had
a ferret to die within closer than within a few months after surgery. It
may be that you've just had some tough cases come through your life. Hang
in there!
