This is one of the reasons why it's a good idea to get your ferret
used to eating meat and "carcass" and yourself used to the idea
(and fixing it). Not all ferrets will recognize meat as food without
the grain, and need to be taught. And it's always better to teach
ahead of time!
Usually starting out with a bit of baby food, especially warmed, and
especailly warmed and off your finger as a treat is a good way to
introduce ferrets to the idea. But remember that muscle meat
while vital is not in and of itself a complete diet, and bone and
organs are also vital to health. That's what makes creating a
BARF diet so tricky.
