Subject: hair thinning and limp

My 3 1/2 year old male sable Toby has experienced hair
thinning over his left shoulder and back since last
month. He is eating drinking and playing fine. He and
his sibs went through ECE in December when we brought
home a baby ferret which had been a pet store ferret.
He also had heliclobacter and received subq fluids for
several days; but recovered nicely, as have the
others. I took him to see our vet two weeks ago, we
discussed the Tennessee panel; and decided to see if
the hair thinning was seasonal and would start to
reverse itself in the next few weeks.
Today at playtime, Toby has a slight limp on his left
back leg. He is playing and acting normally. Is this
an indication that something is brewing? Should I ask
for the bloodwork immediately? (I am inclined to do
so.) Also, my vet told me that there is not a vet in
the Charlottesville area who could do this surgery. If
anyone knows of a vet in the central Va area, please
let me know. Thank you in advance for the help.
