Subject: Re: [Ferret-Health-list] Ingested pencil eraser

I had one ferret who would eat anything remotely resembling rubber. She has
two surgeries for blockages on top of it all. However, pencil erasers were
always a problem, as for the being eaten part. I used lots of hairball
remedy for 2-3 days after I found a chewed up eraser and those never caused
a problem.

I also had a ferret who ate a cricket whole. This caused a partial blockage.
She was slightly depressed and didn't want to play like normal. Plus her
stools were thin. I gave her hairball, after consulting my vet, and she
passed the cricket minus one hind leg. Yuck.
