Subject: Re: [Ferret-Health-list] Ferrets and Influenza

Hi Christopher

Our DEW caught pneumonia after my daughter kissed him
on the nose when she had a strep throat in summer!

Our (human) kids know they & their friends are not to
go anywhere near the ferrets when they have colds/flu
but sadly the sore throat bit didn't register.

A few days later I noticed our ferret breathing
heavily and took him to the vet who kept him in
hospital. Five days later he was dead :o(

If I were you, I'd be equally paranoid about both
colds and flu!
