Chris...most of us that do test, do it more than once a year. You
might want to add that to your poll if it isn't too late or include
it in your next one.

Also, this is a subject we may want to begin a discussion on. It
seems the majority of people are *not* testing yet and, as Dr.
Williams predicted at the Ferret Symposium 2000, an epidemic may be
here within the next 10 years. It's vitally important to discuss
ways to get this message out to more of the ferret community.

I personally feel there is still a lot of confusion/controversy as to
just how easily ADV is spread to other ferrets, especially in the
same household. I believe most of this stems from the fact that in
certain areas, it doesn't seem to be very easily spread at
all...while in other parts of the country, there is a 50-90%
infection rate in exposed ferrets. I have a post that Dr. Jerry
Murray made to the ADV mailing list that he has given me permission
to repost regarding this if anyone is interested.

Another topic I think is of great interest is adrenal disease. From
what I'm "hearing", surgery is often a 'temporary' bandage...if it
even accomplishes that. It breaks my heart to hear of fur kids going
in for their 2nd and 3rd adrenal surgeries.

Just a few ideas...
