Subject: Puzzling test results -- can anyone help?

Hi! I just tonight had my five year old albino boy, Bear, in for some
tests, because he is acting tired and not playing much. His glucose was
thank goodness normal, but two tests were off -- his albumin was low at
1.7, and his packed cell volume was only 31, which indicates he's anemic,
though not severely. Now, I have no idea why this ferret, who gets
ferretone and all the Totally Ferret he can stuff his face with, is anemic!

The vet also palpated his little bod and said she thought she felt one of
his kidneys too big and "rough," and she described it.

Does anyone have any ideas about what's going on? The vet recommended an
ultrasound but as of yet we have no diagnosis.

BTW, he is also having on and off bouts of diarrhea.

Can anyone shed some light on this?
