Out of curiosity, how do you know this? Don't both of these have to "run
their course" despite disinfecting? I only used my bleach solution to
disinfect when we had ECE. I did put a dab of bleach in their laundry
during this time. Normally, I don't use bleach on their bedding. My two
newcomers, Dillon and Chester (one or both), brought the ECE in. Two of my
"oldies", Cedes and Lany, came down with it (two separate cages). Champ
(Lany's cagemate) never showed the first sign of it. I can't say whether
the bleach did or did not control the virus. Normally, bleach solutions are
used with Coccidia, giardia, etc. also. Maybe your solution wasn't strong
enough?

Is vinegar as effective a disinfectant as bleach or do you just use it for
"routine" cleaning, as opposed to disinfecting against a disease or
parasite? How do you mix it? I used to use a vinegar/club soda (25%/75%)
mixture for those little accidents on the carpet.
