We had two ferret die of AIHA within a few days of one another. Our vet
tried large doses of pediapred to try to shut down the immune system, but
wasn't hopeful. It didn't work. We believe that they had somehow gotten
into a bag of onions, but were never able to prove it one way or the other.
The onions are well out of reach now.
