Subject: cryosurgery
I was the person that provided ferrets for the first cryosurgeries performed
by Dr. Weiss. I have kept in touch with majority of these ferrets and have
found nothing regarding bleeding years down the road. As Dr. Williams stated
it hasn't been that long. The only draw backs that I've experienced were:
1-the ferrets feel so much better and are up and around so soon that stitches
can be pulled out easier. But stitching them up better helps in that area.
2-the surgery is too affective on bilaterals in some cases. Thus leaving no
adrenal glands there to do their job. Life long medication might be
necessary.
I think it's a great treatment and continue to use it even on my personal
ferrets.
