Last year I had a ferret die, and at necrospsy she was diagnosed with ECE.
She had been sick for over a year. Only ONE of my 20+ ferrets also became
ill, and he was undergoing chemo for lymphoma at time. I KNOW some of the
others have never had ECE since I bred them. The ferret who was sick had
been in my household for 3 years when she got sick. So how does this rectify
with the description of ECE being "extremely contagious"?
