We have had several through the years who also broke with many, and
often when one of the tumors was up so were the rest. Usually, we
remove them, but at times they have been on individuals who were not
good surgical candidates or in locations that were bad ones (as on
the supraorbital ridge), and on those individuals we've seen such
things as you describe happen.
It is good that you got to the vet to have it checked.
Be aware that sometimes these can become infected so if removal is
possible it makes sense for that reason and because the individual is
more comfortable without the itchy, bleeding tumor.
