Subject: Healthy Ferrets
This is my first post to the health list and I look forward
to lots of good info. Last Fall, after the Ferrets 2000, Gary
Hollowicki came to my house to meet my ferrets. I had been
giving them Ferretone as a treat each morning and Gary
suggested switching to flax oil ( not too pricey) from the
health store. It has essential fatty acids (EFA) which are
necessary for good health and no preservatives. It has been
several months now and I have the softest, most beautiful
coats on all my five ferrets. Even Koka, the silver mitt, is
not coarse but silky and fluffy. He also suggested letting
them have access to collodial silver to slurp as they needed.
Now that is kind of pricey but I manage to put some down at
least 2 - 3 times a week.
Everyone is looking good, feeling good and generally acting
like crazy healthy ferrets.
I strongly recommend the flax oil (3/4 teaspoon per ferret per
day). I put down saucers, one for each, and I monitor to make
sure everyone gets their fair share.
