Subject: Re: [Ferret-Health-list] Chicken bones completely eaten?

Chris Lloyd,

Does the chicken carcass include the leg and thigh bones too?

The ferrets here will chew off both ends of these larger
bones but will leave the midstems uneaten. I've assumed all
along that they were smart enough to forego eating the sharp,
splintery midstems, but as you say your ferrets consume the
bones in their entirety.

Is this correct that your ferrets consume the entire large leg
and thigh bones?

Thanks,

Edward Lipinski

Hi Ulrike, stop grinding the bones and let the ferrets clean
their own teeth on the bones as they eat them, the only
thing left after my ferret get a chicken carcass is the beak
and the feet. Chris
