I don't think I can answer the question asked. The problem here
being, every ferret has a built in malabsorption problem. With a
notoriously short, inefficient intestinal tract even simple stress or
a change in diet could ellicit those symptoms. Statisticly I would
guess 100% of post ECE ferrets have malabsorptive symptoms and 100%
of ferrets who have no exposure to ECE will at some time display
malabsorptive symptoms. Those symptoms are so non-specific as they
apply to almost any ferret illness, a multitude of physical agents
(chewed toy or bedding) and a host of psychological agents (stress,
depression) If it was one short duration, I'd blow it off, if it was
chronic I'd see my vet! If it was intermittent I'd smack Jamie for
feeding them sweets when I wasn't looking.
