Hello FHL,
I was recently told by my vet that my fuzzy had earmites and that I should treat him and all of my others (six of them total).
Well, he gave me Doramectin, which I am to put one to two drops in their ears once a week for 3 - 4 weeks. Has anyone used this type of earmite solution? Is it effective? Anyways, they are on their 4th week and two out of my 6 ferrets have a large amount of reddish, brown "crud" in their ears that I swab out with q-tips and have to use 3 or 4
q-tips just to get them somewhat clean. Is this normal? Does that mean that the medicine is working or not working and this "crud" is the result of the earmites? None of the others seem to have this much buildup in their ears...just two of them, and they sleep together...they are caged separately from the other four. I've heard that earmites can
do damage to their ears, and I don't want that to happen. I will be taking them in to the vet soon, but would appreciate any advice. Thank you!
