Cherri, you might want to see about hiring a vet tech to come over
two or three times a day in ADDITION or boarding them with vet while
you are away, and be ABSOLUTELY SURE to leave a "permission to treat"
letter with your vet for while you are gone! When we had ECE here
they went up and down for about 3 months and we'd have some times
when we just HAD to got the vet on an emergency basis for rehydration
and other problems that can't wait.

We'd escaped having it for many years and really didn't have any feel
at all for the level of care and rapid response needed till we went
through it ourselves.

Take a pan of water and let her warm lap water from your hand,
gradually lower your hand into the water till she is lapping from
your palm or fingers that are partly under water -- so much more
efficient. (Thanks for that one, Bruce!)

Do NOT underestimate the value of singing to a ferret to get it to
eat. It very, very often works. So does finger feeding very often.

If there is no insulinoma you can flavor some water with Nutrical
(which can be bought from vet or various supply places including The
Ferret Store (Mentioning them because they send things FAST and they
have a webpage.). Nutrical doesn't really dissolve but if you mush
in with two forks in wamr water you'll get a "broth" that many enjoy.
