Subject: Websites to search for medication info
The info below was initially written in reply to Tonya's question but never
made it to the list. Although it's already been answered, I thought the
sites listed afterward might be of interest to some. Especially since other
questions regarding medications have been posted.

Chloramphenicol is used to treat proliferative bowel disease; mainly in male
ferrets. I believe that it's an antibiotic. Precautions should be taken when
handling the liquid because it is easily absorbed through the skin and can
cause toxicity and anemia in humans. That's why it can be difficult to find
sometimes. Listed below are sites where you can learn more about medications
and their uses. Some are companion animal specific, others are human
specific.
