Erin,

I think the reason no one got back to you on ferret CPR is that there's no
documentation on it, or at least none that I'm aware of. Occasionally
someone will claim s/he kept a ferret alive on the way to the vet's but I
always read those posts with a grain of salt. Ferrets have a resting heart
rate of 200bpm, a respiration rate of 35bpm, lungs with a capacity less
than 1/20th of ours, and a heart tucked up inside a sturdy rib cage, all of
which would make CPR difficult to administer. I'm not saying it *couldn't*
be done, but I'd sure like to meet a person who's actually done it. You'd
have to have some pretty quick lips and fingers.
