Hi Deena,
You are describing is a local vaccine reaction to
the rabies vaccine. These are common! I would wait for roughly
2 months before removing the lump (if the lump is still there).
Yes, ferrets can get vaccine associated sarcomas, but they are still
rare.
No need to panic at this stage.
