Subject: RE: [Ferret-Health-list] Re: Frontline spray

This just came to me from a very ferret knowledgeable ferret
tech.... I will go with her reccommendation . You may want to
rethink this product for your ferrets?

Frontline Spray

--Its a de-flee/tick spray...may be ok for dogs but it
wouldn't go on any
of my ferrets,...alot more chemicals than may be safe....not
like advantage
which we know is used ok....M

question

I have been told that Frontline does nothing to earmites,
that it only hurts the already irretated (sp?) ear more.
A friend of mine, a breeder, even called Frontline about
this, and they confirmed that Frontline did absolutly
nothing for earmites.
My vet thought it helped too, but instead we went for the
Cydectin.

I've used Frontline as well to kill fleas (not that I've
ever had any, knock on wood) but now I use Advantage, it's
so much easier and I don't have to worry about them wiggling
when I apply it.
