Subject: Re adrenal meds

In response to my statement that neither Lupron or Casodex
alleviates Chuki's adrenal symptoms, Sukie Crandall wrote:

"Glenn, what sorts of symptoms are you seeing? If there is
only fur
loss are you sure that the cause is adrenal? I realize that
it is
not the common cause, but we did have one who looked adrenal
yet who
had perfect adrenals on necropsy and pathology. (Death was
from
advanced hypertrophic cardiomyopathy which had been treated.)
In her
case her fur loss may simply have been age-related, though it
might
also have been due to the stress of her heart illness. "

I've thought about that, often...for it would be the obvious
answer for why nothing works. But Chuki presented with adrenal
symptoms 6 or 7 months ago. Not bald but very sparse, some
straining to urinate and defecate. A xray about 5 months ago
showed a normal heart, another xray less than 2 months ago
showed an enlarged heart. However, the straining to urinate
(and that's what worries me the most) has not become worse,
possibly improved a little.....so maybe the Lupron and/or
Casodex has been of some value, in that respect. But I want
him to have a new fur coat, too.

Appreciate the response, also the email response from Troy
Lynn.
