Hey Debora
I had an extreme case in one of our shelter kids. Garrett was 4 when he was
diagnosed with cardiomyopathy and put on enacard. We added furosemide a
couple of months later when the fluid buildup began to put a strain on his
heart. Garrett had many problems - insulinoma, adrenals, cardiomyopathy,
allergies and asthma. We were lucky to have been graced with his presence for
almost 2 years - he died a couple weeks short of his 6th birthday.
I believe that it was due a lot to the veterinary care that he received and
that he liked the taste of his medicines. I think that your little one can go
many years with a quality lifespan, because her disease was caught early.
Good luck to you both.
