Subject: water bags for heating

i have been warned in the past about using heated
water bags for warming any animal; as explained to me
it is okay to do as long as you refill the bags with
hot water as they cool.
as the bags get cooler than the animal, the heat from
the animal will be transferred to the bag.
we have successfully used water bags plenty of times
for warming an animal, just be careful - you can't
just leave them there for hours and forget about them.
post surgically, this may not be as big of a deal
because as the anesthesia wears off the animal will be
more able to thermoregulate, but for an ill animal
that may not be the case.
