More info on Hill's A/D can food.
The actual values of the can food are slightly
different from the label's minimums and maximums.
Actual "as is" protein 10.5%, and fat 6.6%.
The actual "dry matter" protein is 45.7%
and the actual "dry matter" fat is 28.7%.
As you can see these protein and fat levels
are higher than ferret or kitten foods. The actual
carbohydrate level is 17.4% which is lower than most
ferret or kitten food. The extra calories needed for
recovery are coming from the high fat and protein content.
Plus the fiber content is real low.
