If the pepto doesn't seem to help with the upset stomach, you might
try Pepcid AC. For ferrets with serious stomach problems/ulcers,
we've had much better results with the Pepcid AC than we did with
pepto.

We crush 1 chewable tablet and mix it with 10ml (ten ml) of water. We
give 1.0ml (one ml)3 times a day for 2 days, reducing to 0.5ml (one
half ml, three times a day, for two days. We give the Pepcid AC about
15 minutes before feeding soup. It really seems to perk up their
appetite.

We do make the soup as bland as possible, usually only their regular
kibble (a high protein kibble) soaked and mixed with water to a
tomato soup consistency. If the ferret is very frail and weak, we add
a liquid vitamin to the soup daily.

Usually, by the fifth day their stomach seems much better, as their
appetite improves. With serious stomach illnesses such as chronic
ulcers, we usually have to repeat the half mililiter dosage for a
couple of days a week, until the stomach has had time to heal.
