Hi Rob. I'm new to the FHL, and nowhere near as experienced as a lot
of these folks are, but here's my 2 cents: Were the kits by any
chance kept in wood chip bedding at the store? The little guy I
brought home a few weeks ago had the exact same scaly pads you
describe and that's what I attributed it to.

I asked my vet about it and she said just to monitor them. Being a
worrier, I put a tiny bit of Neosporin on them, but promptly realized
that he would just have stuff stick to his feet with that so I quit.
Now it's been almost 3 weeks and the scales are definitely going
away. Maybe when they're sleeping you could put a little neosporin
or other anti-bacterial cream on them to make it heal faster. I
wouldn't sweat it unless they really start looking bad or cracking
and bleeding.

Good luck,

Norm
