Subject: Re: starving ferret help duck soup..

I actually am promted to have to ask WHY you would use any form of fruits in
a duck soup for a sick ferret?
The idea of duck soups is easy palatabilty (sp?), and maximum nutirition per
CC.
Since ferrets gain absolutely no nutritional value from fruits AND they are
likely to cause the runs and further dehydrate... that seems
counter-productive to me?

My duck soup recipe if anyone wants it is:
1 (5.5 oz) can of Science Diet canned A/D *if unavailable Science Diet's or
Iam's kitten canned as secondary.
2 small jars natural chicken baby food (stage 2)
1/4 tube Ferretvite (less if ferret is Insulinomic)
2 droppers of Pet Tinic or Ferret Drops
2 scoops Nupro
2 Tablespoons powdered Vanilla Ensure (or 1/4 small can) *Omit for
Insulinomic ferrets
2 Tablespoons Dyne (if available)

Water or electrolyte replacer to consistancy desired.

Susan
