I think that you should spare the cage, and maybe even try just a
little bit
to hint that you would love to have the ferret maybe. Maybe the
environment
is getting to the ferret or something in the home. I wonder if the
person
does drugs or drinks, and doesn't care about it rather then not have
the
money for it. Actions speak louder than words, and if she isn't
acting on
anything, than maybe someone else should...
