Actually Chis ours ARE much different...Most don't produce steam at all
(it;s really a misnomer)and are really a mixture of hot tap water (some very
new units have their own built in heaters), mixed with special detergent
which is sprayed onto the carpet, agitated into the fibers, and then sucked
up into a waste tank that is then emptied at the end of cleaning.
(ewwwww....)

They are now selling some "Euro Steamers" that are what you are talking
about, but they are still rare and not what we usually mean....
