Subject: Re: Vaccinations

Tony,it takes two weeks for the vaccine to reach full immunity,so you
had distemper before the vaccinations,or your vet used the wrong
vaccine.I would not risk a healthy ferrets life by not vaccinating.I
have one that won't be vaccinated again, unless they come out with a
new vaccine,since she reacted to FervacD,and I can't get GalaxyD,but
she's built up an immunity that hopefully will last until a new
vaccine is out.Make sure your vet uses the right vaccine.Quote'Only
distemper vaccines of chick embryo origin should be used.Any
others,including combination,can result in clinical disease.'From
Essentials of Ferrets by Dr.Karen Purcell.
