Subject: Check your dryer vents!!!
As many of you know by now, we lost our little Cocoa last night due
to heat stress from being trapped in the dryer hose leading from our
dryer to the outside. She got out when the unsupervised child next
door left our downstairs door open without our knowledge.
Apparently, Cocoa tried to get back in through the dryer vent that
she got into from the outside due to its structure. It is the louver
type that has the 3 little slats that allowed her to get inside. We
only dried one load of clothes, but that was enough to cost her her
life. :'( PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE check your vent covers to see
what type you have! We bought a new one at Walmart tonight for only
$3.96 that doesn't allow ferrets, small animals or birds to get in.
I wouldn't want any ferret to go through what Cocoa did......And, the
pain will be with us for a long, long time.......
