Subject: Blue skin

Hi. My sable had his left adrenal gland removed (along with a large tumor)
on April 17. He initially had hair loss on his tail and shoulder blades.
After the surgery he started losing all the hair on his back, front legs, and
around his mask. My vet said it would get worse before it got better, and it
was not uncommon for them to lose most of the "old" hair while the new is
growing back. He said it could take 6 to 8 weeks before he could begin to
look normal. His hair is growing back like peach fuzz, and his legs and
around his mask have taken on the blue cast, which my vet said was normal
with sables. All his other bodily functions are normal, and besides the blue
look, he seems like his old self. Could this post surgery hair loss and slow
regrowth be due to the hair growth cycle that ferrets have?
