You are lucky! I don't know how it's been the last year, but we had
a run of Canine Distemper in the wild populations here a few years
ago that went through a lot of critters, so we can't take that risk.
We don't vaccinate those with a reaction history, but otherwise we
vaccinate. Sometimes response has to be geared to an area's specific
risk factors, and Canine Distemper is such a horror that we consider
the local risk too high to chance it. I don't know if you have ever
encountered an animal with it, but it is a living nightmare.
