I just wanted to say from my experience with my first ferret he
seems okay to
me. Loki and Poki are littermates. They were keeping up with
growing and
weight gain. They were up to 2lb 7oz and 2lb 8oz. Then Loki started
losing
weight slowly. I wasn't really worried until what you describe. I
took him to
the vet to check things out. The vet said that he was fine and just
watch.
Loki continued to lose weight to 1lb 4oz. I had blood tests and
stuff done,
he was fine. I started feeding him ferretvite, ferretone, hand
feeding food.
Most of all I gave him a lot of love and attention. He is a moody,
depressed
at times, and picky eater. (eats almost nothing except food,
ferretvite/tone,
and bananas) He slowly gained weight till 2lb 3oz, and has remained
since.
Poki is at 2lb 10oz. Loki is happy when he's not moody, healthy,
eats and
drinks fine, and plays a lot. Also he's the head guy of the gang. I
couldn't
figure out why he lost weight, just happy he's healthy. Good luck
with him.
