That's why I always suggest getting a vial of styptic powder before you
begin trimming nails. So you don't have any. If you are married and your
hubby shaves, he may have a styptic pencil in the medicine cabnet. Wet
the end and apply it to the nail area. Or hit an open store like
Wal-Mart and check the pet shelves for styptic powder. If they have
some. get it. Else look in the medicine section for styptic pencil or
roll on styptic. Some folks recommend corn startch or white soap, but
they don't work too well for me.
