Subject: Re:Query about strokes

Do strokes in small animals, including ferrets, resemble strokes in humans?
"Weezul1" posted a query about an elderly ferret and it sure sounded like
what our elderly rat did (falling to one side, confusion, difficulty moving
properly).

The rat died before the vet could see her, so we don't know if it really
was a stroke, but when I was chatting with our family doctor, she said it
sounded to her like a stroke. (I'd thought it was an inner ear
infection--rats seem to be prone to that.)

Is there a high correlation between obesity and strokes in these little
animals?
