One of mine is the same way. He know's he's doing wrong. He dashes
away and
turns around and looks at me. Lately, I've been able to avoid those
occasional ones, because I think of what I've been doing. When he
would start
licking, or doing the head quiver (trying to control himself I
think), I
would pick him up, hold him, and say "Do you have to bite Mommy?",
and he
would calm down and look at me. He would be fine. I've figured out
that at
times he would actually be asking for a hug at times. You're lucky
if you can
hold him for more than a second. During this time, he started
nibbling on the
sock on my foot. He'll be careful of my toes though. I've noticed an
inverse
relationship with bitting and sock nibbling. I just let him do the
sock
nibbling because I don't want him to go back to bitting.
As for the sense test. I've made loud noises and if they get
startled, they
can hear. I've done this with dogs, I would use a ball or my hand
and quickly
move it across their line of site from the side/behind. If they
follow your
hand, she can probally see. I'm sure there are better methods.
