Subject: [Ferret-Health-list]RE: Bandit- Digest Number 201

Hi Christina,
It sounds like Bandit's right adrenal gland is starting
to cause problems again (itchy skin, lighter coat). Again
I am not a firm believer in cryosurgery. The fact that he did
not need replacement hormones likely means that part of his right
gland (even just part of the capsule) was still functional. With
time
the adrenal gland can "regrow" and along with this is "regrowth" of
the
tumor.
Food for ECE- I usually recommend A/D with warm water or Gerber's
baby
food (chicken or turkey). The seedy poops is from maldigested/ mal-
absorbed fat. The pancreas enzyme products may help with digesting
the fat and make it easier to digest which would help resolve the
seedy poop problem. Bob's chicken gravy would also be OK to use if
your ferret likes it, and you have the time to make it.
As for other homeopathic "remedies," it really depends on what it is

and how it works or if it works at all. I do not want to get on a
soap box,
but some of the homeopathic products do not work.
Sorry I did not save old post, so I do not have the bloodwork
values to look at.
Hope that helps,
Jerry Murray, DVM
