Could someone please elaborate on this. I thought Brewer's
Yeast was *good* for insulinoma - that it helped stabilize the
blood sugar. I have an elderly (10yo or so) ferret with both
advanced adrenal disease & insulinoma. His kidneys aren't so
hot anymore either (he isn't concentrating his urine like he
should be). He gets 1/4 of a 5mg tablet of pred 2x/day. He
also gets supplemental duck soup feedings several times a day.
I add several crushed Brewer's Yeast tablets to each batch of
duck soup. I thought I was helping this old guy. I'll have a
hard time forgiving myself if I've actually been doing him
harm.
Diane & the gang
I personally, have had wonderful results on adrenal and
insulimonic kids.
Here is what I am thinking. Brewers Yeast is used as a
supplement commonly and recently a LOT of people have come
into information indicating that may be detrimental to those
ferrets already afflicted with insulinoma.
They may be thinking this due to "yeast" being in Nupro.
But I must point out that Nupro was specifically with
"Primary grown yeast" rather than Brewers.

Someone told me that you shouldn't give nupro supplement to
ferrets with Insulinoma. Do you give it to all your
ferrets?
What is the consensus on this?
