Subject: ADV Testing

Thanks for the information Patty. The information
you included says:

"It is recommended that testing for ADV Antibody
be performed a minimum of
4 times per year on each ferret. Testing is
especially important before
attempting to breed, and prior to transferring a
ferret from one
household to another."

I understand what your point is but most of us
will end up with another ferret one way or the
other, probably a rescue. My last two were found
wandering the streets. So far, all I know (hope)
that they brought into the house was ECE.

I just can't imagine being disciplined enough (me)
to test mine 3-4 times a year, so is there a point
in testing the first time if I'm not going to keep
it up? I would like to hear other peoples'
opinions.
